He Who Laughs First Laughs Last

This cartoon is titled " Still Standing" by Cardow, the Ottowa citizen. The title fits because it is trying to represent the reign of the Libyan leader over his country. The bodies that Muammar Gaddafi is standing on is a symbol that represents the innocent lives that were lost because of his own personal gains. Gaddafi is blamed for taking many lives in terroristic acts that can be dated back into the 70's. he has never faced any judge or prison time for his actions. The hat and the clothes represents his leadership. The message of this cartoon is to show that the cartoonist feels that Gaddafi is mocking everyone against him. That he can do what eve he want even with the world watching and he will still triumph in his wrong doings. In the current times that we live in this uprise in Libya is major political unrest because of its connection with the world's oil production. This relates to our discussion in class with the stock market and how government operates because the U.S will find a way to meddle in this situation.
